music quiz question...

Post by MahlerOO5 » 17 Aug 2008, 13:47

Dunno if Casey Kasem ever got much airplay in the UK...but in the 70s and 80s his US Top 40 radio show was widely syndicated around the world, including my local AM radio station in Perth, Western Australia

So what you ask.

Question is: apart from being the world voice of the US Top 40, he is also the voice of a well known cartoon charcter.

Listen to the voice a couple of times, see if you can you get it...

Which one do you want? Seems Mr Kasem is quite a voice over artist

Infact it seems he did the voice for Robin (as in Batman and Robin) in the animated series more than the voice that I think you are looking for which I beleive is Norville Rogers aka Shaggy

Shaggy is the one.

I was quite gobsmacked, probably equivalent to finding out Jimmy Saville was Captain Pugwash, say :lol!: not that he was, as far as I know :lol!:

Driving in the car after lunch today, flicking around the radio started listening to Brain of Britain on Radio 4.

Then heard the question: which Cartoon character has American DJ Casey Kasem been playing since 1969... :lol!:

Coincidence...or do we have a forum member who's a question compiler for R4... :icecream:

Avoiding certain viruses mate, which unfortunately I was getting from certain websites.
I'm giving this one a go & hopefully won't attract one this time :-\

Anyhow here's the trivia puzzler:
Which well-known group of the late 70's/early 80's had a second album with guest backing vocals from Belinda Carlisle & Jane Weidlin from the Go-Gos?
Up The Boro will probably get this one if he's like me & reads his sleeve notes.........

Would it be The Specials, as Weidlin was involved with Terry Hall at the time?
