Post Sacrilege!!!
I received a number of HW teams in some job lots recently and some of them were repainted, probably by the owners. They seem to be beyond repair  but I would appreciate any input.

Ref. 45 - Hibernian. A white cross has been painted on the chest, the shorts are painted green and a green trim was added. Plus white numbers painted on the back. :x

Ref. 132 - Borussia Monchengladbach. I am speechless about this one. You can see for yourself the damage done. :x

Image

Ref. 176 - Zaire (no sticker on box but team name handwritten in various places on the box). Logo painted on chest and black trim added. :x

Image

Ref. 119 - Everton etc (this is from a different lot). White stripes have been painted on the front and back of the shirt and white trim added.

PS: I apologise for the quality of the pictures especially the Zaire one.

Gutted...I think they are beyond restoring. Unless anyone else knows better.

Did anyone back in the 60s or 70s think that one day Subbuteo would be valuable?
As I recall, Subbuteo players and teams were considered highly disposable.

I left a commission bid at the local auction house yesterday for a box of H/W teams, the most prominent was a 91 Parma where half the team were immaculate and the other half looked like they'd been dipped in a tin of rainbow paint!!!!!

Hope I've won the lot, a tenner usually secures most items down there, I put £20 on reserve, I'll know on Wednesday.
