Post FC Subbuteo
As I have the ref box I'm always on the look out for a team to fill it

Not sure this is teh one to go for - doesn't that red band seem too wide?

http://cgi.ebay.com/SUBBUTEO-HW-TEAM-Su ... 2a022dbd66

Oh & while we ar eon the subject - whats the story about this strip?

was it made up by SSG?

Cheers

Paul.

Looks like a 47 to me.

Story is elsewhere on this forum but it was the Barcelona works team, playing in yellow shirts with a red Subbuteo logo, blue shorts.

Which suggests to me that the correct version of this team should have a hoop only on the front.

Well, here you have a Sweden repainted as a 60. Which is nice.

Can I just take this very rare opportunity to correct Rich :lol!: GIBRALTAR Rich, not Barcelona :lol!: :lol!: :lol!: :lol!: :lol!:

BTW, I've seen version with hoop front only AND all the way round,

Thanks Rich

did try searching the forum but a search on 'FC Subbuteo' '60' etc revealed nothing as the serach engine deemed all the words as being too common

great to see the picture finally - just need someone with some decal paper to knock one up on top of a yellow 47

Point taken, Michael, but, actually, there's an unresolved issue here. The catalogue said "FC Subbuteo Barcelona", whereas Krama said it was the works team in Gibraltar. :|

Thanks for spelling Gibraltar correctly, anyway. :awe:

those photos in the ref section that Mark uploaded are great

http://www.subbuteoforum.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=11486

if I ever get my 60 (hopeful on ebay at the moment, but the price will prob run away from me), think I will have to repaint some subs / ballboys in navy with a white stripe to match the picture :D

Post Re: FC Subbuteo
As I recall, the "favourites" to explain the catalogue listing of "FC Subbuteo (Barcelona)" were that either:

1 There was a Spanish lower division side called FC Subbuteo who were from Barcelona
2 That the European or whatever Subbuteo team champions at some point were FC Subbuteo from Barcelona and PA had the kit painted up in their honour.

What I thought Krama had cleared up was that
a) FC Subbuteo was the Gibraltar works team and that they played in yellow shirts and blue shorts with "SUBBUTEO" in big red letters on the front of the shirt, which became the red band on the ref 60; and that
b) the (Barcelona) reference was that Barca have often had a 2nd strip which is a yellow shirt with a red diagonal (a la Peru) and blue shorts. I think someone at the time posted up a b&w pic but no one seemed to be able to find a colour copy.

That's my recollection anyhow
