Anyone whose got this team knows the team colour is nowhere near this example. Poor old Rupes - just when we thought he was getting better at this.

The boxes are often upside down in his auctions...
Perhaps it is a kind of signature.....or maybe something that has to do with the stickers, or something that reminds him of something pleasant, who knows...
It would take a behavioral analysis unit dedicated to him ...

Still enjoy refreshing my memory with the feedback he has received .... always glad to note how someone appreciates Rupes' efforts!!

just out of curiousity i sent rupes a question via the ebay item:-

"is it a repainted team?"

answer from his bearness:-

"As per comprehensive description. Not as far as I am aware. Please only bid if happy to receive team in condition as per close up photo and good luck if you do - it is a lovely looking team. Many thanks for your interest."

This is the response when I asked what would happen if I won the team & it later turned out to be a repaint

The problem I have is that the team is listed 100% accurately. I have been accused of repainting a team in the past when I have had it in my possession since it was purchased from an original subbuteo shop so I'm not sure how the so-called experts make their judgements. I also know that original subbuteo was always painted by hand and therefore no two teams are EVER the same. This came from a lady who worked in the original subbuteo house factory in Tunbridge Wells - she is now in her 80's but will tell you that there are so many false claims about repainted teams going around that it is a real shame as she painted over 5,000 teams in her time there and knows that teams will always look different from each other. The thing to do, is not to bid if you are in any doubt as I don't want to disappoint or offend and many of my customers are happy and come back many times.

yes there ill always be a difference in painting styles, but not in the colours of the paint used..

He does not repaint them but he print them out with his Canon printers (see feedback)
