......yet another package of 2 x HW Teams has apparently failed to make it to its destination in Italy.
Was sent by International Signed-for Delivery.
I have receipt to prove they were sent.
When I enter the relevant code into the Royal Mail website, it confirms that my package was handed over to the Italian postal service.
Buyer now claims non-receipt (package posted on 30/12/2009) and I stand to lose a whopping £130 on a claim from Paypal......

Re: Here We Go Again.......
if you provide tracking number to ebay claim fails (i know this..).
You can also try to contact Royal mail to have the Italian tracking number (when parcel enter in Italy an italian tracking code is applied) then track from Poste website (or you can send me and i call callcentre)

Your only hit is possible neg feedback. The package is fully insured and will cover your Paypal expenses - in fact it's better if the claim is complete as that is power to your arm for Royal Mail.

Sickening thing is the guy who's claiming non-delivery has been 'Sadtoseethemgo's' best customer
He must be so used to unwrapping repaints he can't appreciate the real thing when it arrives

Spurs. How did you manage to get confirmed delivery ? I thought that as soon as a packet leaves these shores, that's it...it can't be tracked. Any useful info here would be most interesting. I have to be honest here, I am actually wondering if the "International signed for" & "Airsure" services are really worth doing, apart from the added insurance. The EU spend countless hours talking about crap. Is it not time that they can't get European postal services talking to each other better.
I actually started a new thread concerning postage to Italy. I did not notice this one, apologies.

I'm also confused by the 'Signed For' bit of the 'International Signed For' service. I've used it a few times and I was told it needed a signature at the other end, but the Royal Mail tracking seems to stop as soon as it gets to the other country. So where are you able to see if it was signed for at all?
Fortunately I've not had a problem, yet.

Re: Here We Go Again.......
oh yes, Signed For is worth doing...
if you have a tracking number - under paypal seller protection scheme - paypal rules in your favour!

Are you absolutely certain of this. I thought you were only protected in Paypal seller scheme if you have 100% traceability IE DHL / FEDEX etc etc
I just had a read through the Paypal seller scheme. This screen shot speaks volumes
Last line on d) "..and/ or claims filed directly from ebay "
So basically there is NO such seller protection scheme for ANY purchase on ebay from ANY buyer. Sheesh, this really does suck big apples

If I understand well the doc above, Signed for is an accepted proof of postage for paypal. Of course the item needs to be eligible for seller protection...
Nowadays in yor paypal account you have an option to link payment with RM tracking number. When you do so, an email is sent to the buyer informing him of shipping and the tracking number is recorder. If the buyer opens the dispute, Paypal will check the validity of the tracking number with RM, and that's it.
Ah, maybe it has never happened to you but you cannot open a dispute on ebay, you can only open a dispute via paypal.

Re: Here We Go Again.......
I only send to Italy with signed for, no discussion although I get tabbed on postage costs on my feedback as a result sometimes. In defence of the Italian buyers, the reason for this is that the Italian postal service, not the buyers are notoriously light fingered and or crap. I had a really good experience with a fella who buys off me a lot when one parcel failed to turn up recently. As we'd done a lot of business before he took it on the chin (it was a ref 60 so not cheap) so I didn't have to involve paypal or go through any of that rubbish. I was pleasantly surprised but just goes to show there's good people everywhere

Perhaps I am a little thick here, excuse my ignorance if I am totally wrong. Surely ALL claims concerning purchased items originate from Ebay IE "Resolve A Problem". This would then take you directly to Paypal.

I have to be honest. The italians I have dealt with so far on ebay have been some of the nicest people I have made contact with. Polite, like a joke etc.

exactly, they are paypal claims linked to an ebay sale... it is paypal that offers you protection, not ebay.
BTW I have real life experience of this... someone opened a claim, I submitted the tracking number, Paypal ruled in my favour. (actually the item was returned to me because the seller had indicated an incorrect address - there was no street nr. !!! So, I shipped it again at the buyer expenses!)

Re: Here We Go Again.......
Just a point from the other side.....I bought 2 HW teams on French ebay last year.
After 4 weeks they hadn't turned up, so contacted the seller - he was a nice guy, had proof of postage - then raised a claim.
The package never did arrive, and paypal gave me my money back - presumably the absolute vast majority of buyers are genuine, and it is the postal service at fault - that appears to have been the case for me.
